Statement from World Lacrosse on proposed new sport for LA28

World Lacrosse, the international governing body for lacrosse, has released a statement in response to LA28’s proposal. The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Committee (LA28) recently proposed that lacrosse should be included as a sport in the 2028 Olympic Games. 🥍

“We are absolutely thrilled and honored by LA28’s decision to propose lacrosse for inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games,” said World Lacrosse officials. “We are one huge step closer to a monumental milestone for our sport and international community.”

Lacrosse is played globally and its potential inclusion in the Olympics would mark significant recognition of this fast-paced, exciting game on an international scale.

The roots of modern-day Lacrosse can be traced back hundreds of years to Native American communities where it was more than just a game; it held cultural significance with spiritual elements embedded into its play.

Today, Lacrosse is enjoyed worldwide with organized leagues from North America all the way across Europe and Asia. It’s characterized by speed, precision passing, strategic teamwork and high scoring games which make it an attractive spectator sport.

Moreover, including new sports like lacrosses will increase diversity within competition at the Olympics – showcasing not only traditional but also emerging sports popular among younger generations around world.

This move could potentially open doors for other less recognized yet equally competitive sports hoping to find their place under sun within global sporting arena such as Olympics – providing them much needed exposure while simultaneously enriching overall experience offered by these prestigious events.

However before this becomes reality there are still several steps that need completion: first off International Olympic Committee must approve proposal put forth by LA28 committee then once approved necessary arrangements have got made ranging from setting up adequate facilities ensuring availability suitable training resources etcetera so players can compete highest level possible without any hindrances whatsoever during actual event itself thereby making sure everyone involved gets fair chance represent their country proud manner they deserve!

In conclusion we can only wait see how things unfold from here on out but one thing’s for certain – if Lacrosse does get included it will surely add another layer of excitement to the already thrilling lineup of sports at Olympics.
